Heritage winery established in 1894, famous for The Angelus Cabernet and the award-winning Harry's Deli bistro in the ironstone cellar.
A century and a third of McLaren Vale wine
Wirra Wirra was established in 1894 by the eccentric Robert Strangways Wigley and then re-established in the 1960s by the McLaren Vale legends Greg and Roger Trott. Today it is one of the region's most-loved medium-sized wineries, known for premium Shiraz, Grenache and the flagship Angelus Cabernet Sauvignon.
What to do on site
The cellar door is housed in beautifully restored 1890s ironstone buildings and set amongst century-old olive trees. Harry's Deli, the on-site restaurant, serves share-plate style modern Australian food that pairs with the estate wines. Wirra Wirra was named Global Winner of the 2021 Great Wine Capitals Best of Wine Tourism Awards.
